I went for a walk this morning for about 1 hour. I first took a bus to Putney High Street with a bin bag of used clothes to give to a charity shop. I couldn’t walk with a big bag of old clothes from my home to Putney High Street because it would be too heavy for me. After that I walked from Putney High Street to Wimbledon Village which took me about 1 hour. If I had to walk from my home to Wimbledon Village it would take me only about 20 minutes. And from my home to Putney High Street would take me about 35-45 minutes. Therefore it took me about one hour to walk from Putney High Street to Wimbledon Village. Even though I live closer to Wimbledon Village than Putney, I rarely go to Wimbledon Village or Wimbledon. I often go to Putney instead, to do my shopping and stuff.
Sticks ‘n’ Sushi in Wimbledon. It’s a Copenhagen-based sushi restaurant. Funny enough, its first restaurant (or rather a takeaway at that time) opened in 1994 on the street where I was used to living which was Nansensgade in Copenhagen. I walked past it one day and noticed there’s a new sushi takeaway and eatery just opened; I then stopped by and tried its food which was quite good. So I became its regular customer since I love sushi, until I moved to somewhere else.
I decided to attend a martial art class anyway yesterday, which was rather tough since it was for 3 hours from 18:30-21:30. But I learned some useful, unarmed fighting techniques. So, it was worthwhile. I will stick to attending the class on Sundays, unless I have something to do on some Sundays that I can’t attend the class. I also have to practise. It’s not going to do me any good if I go to dancing and martial art classes, but I will not train at home as well. All that time I spend going there will be a waste, except that I get to exercise. So, I have to start practising as well.
By the way, we also got to meet a stuntman from Jackie Chan’s stunt team which we could ask him anything. So, it was totally awesome to actually come face to face with the person who is really experienced in doing stunts for a well-known martial arts actor.
Below is a clip of me doing an unarmed fight scene:
I went to contemporary dancing class again yesterday. Now my body feels amazing. I don’t remember the steps that much because I don’t really practise at home. So today, I will try to practise a little bit. Then, I will continue to attend the class once a week. So I better can remember the choreography and get used to the routine. I may attend jazz dance as well. So, two days dancing once a week: Contemporary & Jazz dances. Then also yoga and martial art classes once a week. Then I’m good. I can feel when I keep exercising regularly my body becomes more robust and lithe. After the dancing class, it feels like I am dancing every time I move my body to do something, even making coffee, walking around in my studio flat. I don’t feel easily tired as I was used to. Another reason that makes me keep working out is that I want a more toned body besides learning new skills. That’s one of my goals this year.
I feel like attending a martial art class as well today. But, I also want to finish my screenplay as soon as possible. Now that I know what it needs to improve. The sooner I am done with my script the better, so that I can move on. But exercise is also very vital. But I had already been to dancing class yesterday. So, it should be okay. Well, I am not so sure. I may attend martial art class anyway later on today.
I went to contemporary dance yesterday. It was tough. But it was amazing. I got to exercise all parts of my body and learn new skill. There are also some techniques in contemporary dance that similar to martial arts’ – which I do go once in a while as well, but I plan to go more often now – so it wasn’t something I wasn’t used to. So I really like it. I will attend contemporary dancing class maybe once or twice a week. I have to persistently continue with the training from now on if I want to master my skills and to be in good form.
Today, I will also go to yoga class. Luckily, there’s a yoga place near my home. So I don’t have to travel that far. But with dancing and martial arts classes, I have to travel far. Not so much the dancing class. It’s just in central London. But the martial arts class is quite far. There are also some martial arts schools near me, but I don’t really like them. But maybe, I should try to go to other places near me as well. I haven’t tried them all, yet. I have only tried a few of them. I just like the one that I always go. So, even it’s a bit too far, it’s okay.
I will also try to go to martial arts once a week, too. I just have to keep working out and perfecting my skills. Otherwise, it’s just a waste of time if I only go when I feel like to. So, every week, I go to dancing class, yoga, and martial arts. And since I don’t like going to the gym this is the best way for me to keep fit, and plus I get to learn new skills. As I get older, workout has become more and more vital because your body is not as strong and healthy as when you’re young. But even for young people, physical activities are also important for them. All in all, it’s just essential for everybody to be in good health and shape – no matter your age.
After the yoga class, I will have to do two self-tape auditions as well. So, I have to find the monologues to use for my auditions and memorise them. Then, after I am done with the self-tape auditions, I will work a little bit more on my screenplay. Maybe for a few hours or so. Just to take a small step towards my goal of finishing my screenplay although I don’t have time to write. Or, I will work a little bit more on my script now before I go to yoga class. I think, I’ll do that.
